Patterns
Patterns are an important visual expression of Snorkel AI's brand identity. They are based on the idea that data just like water has a free-flowing, limitless quality that is represented through the layers of knowledge and technology.
Light mode patterns
Primary pattern
Our primary pattern is intended for applications where Snorkel AI the company is the main subject matter. This would be suitable for any content that speaks about Snorkel AI in broad terms.
Good examples are the homepage on our website, intro slides in our presentation decks or our business cards.
This is the first visual representation of our brand that the market should see.

Platform pattern
Our 'Platform' pattern is intended for applications where the Snorkel Flow platform is the main subject matter. This would be suitable for specifically highlighting features of Snorkel Flow - LF builders, supported data modalities or integrations into existing ML pipeline.
Good examples are the platform page on our website, quarterly LTS releases and blogposts highlighting new product features.

Enterprise pattern
Our 'Enterprise' pattern is intended for applications where specific industry solutions are being featured. This would be suitable for named and anonymized case studies and industry use-cases.
Good examples are the solutions pages on our website, and blogposts exploring industry-specific solutions.

Research pattern
Our 'Research' pattern is intended for applications where data science is being featured in depth. This would be suitable for the discussion of Snorkel Flow’s research foundations, data-centric AI and state-of-the-art ML research.
Good examples are the technology pages on our website.

Neutral pattern
Our 'Neutral' pattern is intended for applications where a single page covers multiple subject areas or where the content itself is visually rich and could conflict with a colorful pattern.
Good examples are the resources pages on our website, or any other co-branding with customers or industry partners.

Which pattern is right for me?
Choosing the right pattern can be difficult as much of our subject matter is highly interconnected. Here are some tips how to choose wisely:
Audience
Think about who the article or presentation is targeting, what is the key takeaway you want to resonate most? For example, data scientists might be most interested in Snorkel AI’s research, a CTO might want to know how the platform can benefit their existing ML pipeline.
Context
An article might touch on many subjects but will usually have one overarching theme - consider which subject will have the most impact. For example, an intro to Snorkel Flow might touch on benefits to the enterprise and research but will mostly be about the platform and Snorkel Flow specific features.
Follow the website
If all else fails, use the Snorkel AI website as a guide. Each page has its distinct pattern according to subject area, even though individual modules might touch on other subjects.

‘Mother’ Shape
Choose your crops wisely
When choosing crops please consider the whole pattern, specifically the undulating shapes and spread of colors. A well balanced crop will feature all three colors in the Flow Pattern, and should have a good balance of large flat color areas and undualting wave shapes.
Most applications will look better by keeping a small area of the light or dark background as part of the crop.

Patterns & typography
Keep an eye the overall page balance when using color patterns with typography. Large titles or single statements work well with the subject area patterns.
We would recommend that any larger amount of content containing title and body copy, or including other illustrations, be used with the 'Neutral' pattern or the 'Surf' background color.
